We focus on Observational Research for the Life Sciences.
In recent years, clinical observational research has become an essential "tool" for the development and diffusion of new health technologies, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. Collecting real world data has been receiving increasing attention.
According to a recent survey by the European Commission, an increasing number of Countries revised the relative efficacy and effectiveness of a new treatment as part of their decision making process for reimbursement and pricing, adding strategic value to data used for assessment of effectiveness. Understanding healthcare data collected under real life practice circumstances requires to master the nuances of observational research, accepting that randomized clinical trials, although recognized as the "gold standard" for establishing efficacy, operate fictitious, theoretical environment and are not capable of detecting effectiveness.
Indeed, clinical observational research rather than a new "tool" is a true "toolbox". Thanks to the heterogeneity of the many possible study designs, these research methods allow to address and answer very different questions: descriptive clinical epidemiology, post-marketing safety studies (PASS), comparative effectiveness research, evaluations on appropriateness of health care interventions, and many others.
MediNeos goes right to the point of observational research. Welcome on board with us.
